Bridesmaids Meet & Greet Party
ARE YOU A SOON-TO-BE BRIDE??!! Well, a “Bridesmaids Meet and Greet Party” is a MUST HAVE! As my wedding is soon approaching, my MOH and I thought it’s a great idea to host a party where the bridesmaids get to know one another, especially if they are from different cultures, group of friends, and families. I thought popping the big question to these special girls several months in advance was ideal as it will not only give them the opportunity to prepare for the big day alongside with me but also become comfortable with each other over the months. WHAT HAPPENS AT THE MEET AND GREET? 1. Get the girls to introduce themselves and how they know the bride. Funny memories with the bride is always the best. (We got the girls to cut a piece of string at any length, of course don’t tell them what it is for. They must talk about themselves until the string is completely wrapped around their finger). 2. We played a lot of ice breaker games. So, I paired them in teams with girls they weren’t too familiar with and it was hilarious. (We had obstacle races where they had to get up on their feet and really interact).
3. SHARE DETAILS OF YOUR WEDDING! Keep the girls informed about everything they should know such as: - Date, Times and Location - Wardrobe and Accessories (Ask them for inputs and show them examples of the looks you are trying to achieve) - Entrances/ Partners -Ceremony and reception itinerary -Appointments for dress shopping (Try to choose a day and book several appointments and have your girls that are available come along with you and help you say yes to the dress!) -Assign someone to be the main source of contact (Usually the MOH) 4. Gifts aren’t necessary but it is a nice gesture. I gave my girls a box with a necklace, earrings, bangles, bindi and nail polish. These are accessories I would like them to wear for the wedding day.
5. Food and Drinks: It would nice to have selection of hors’deurves, wine and mocktails. We also served dinner. Be creative depending on the time of the day you plan to host. 6. Location: Some options are: your home, restaurant and park. We had it at a juice bar/lounge of our condo. Enjoy all the small events that lead up to your wedding!
